Process Technician

About the role

The process technician will oversee the shift schedule and assist in running extrusion lines.

Responsibilities

• Implement production schedule for product specifications such as dimensions, colors, and profile
• Responsible for starting and shutting down production lines
• Change stacks & dies
• Clean dies
• Pull and clean co‑extruder screws
• Set and update all extruder and co‑extruder settings
• Set McGuire settings
• Setup embossers
• Assure scheduled line maintenance is completed
• Adjust water bath settings
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting
• Change and clean vents
• Perform changeover tasks according to production schedule
• Perform board quality control checks
• Perform color testing
• Conduct trials
• Conduct Line Operator and Lead Operator skill evaluations
• Direct/Train Line Operators and Lead Operator
• Ensure good housekeeping
• Communicate supply needs to Material handler
• Follow all policies and procedures
• Maximize plant efficiencies
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Successful completion of Line Operator, Lead Operator and Process Technician tests
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions
• Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to lift up to 70 lb

Compensation

Hourly pay rate: $22 – $28 per hour. Bonus opportunity available.
