Job Summary

The Process Technician I will support, maintain, and improve production line performance. Key responsibilities include investigating issues, training operators, conducting trials, maintaining tooling, and implementing improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily process and quality support for assigned production lines, including issue investigation, defect disposition, and corrective/preventative actions.
  • Select, design, modify, and maintain tooling, fixtures, and equipment to improve safety, quality, throughput, and productivity.
  • Administer and maintain process setup documentation to ensure compliance with product design requirements.
  • Develop and maintain training documentation related to process operation, including procedures for setups, tooling maintenance, and in-process monitoring.
  • Train operators as required to ensure process procedures are well understood and followed.
  • Support new product industrialization and initial production runs, ensuring the process produces high-quality, safe product meeting specifications, productivity, and cost targets.
  • Interact with customers on technical and quality-related topics or issues, resolving customer complaints related to the process.
  • Work with suppliers to execute projects, resolve problems, and improve processes.
  • Support business plans to increase productivity, reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance safety.
  • Participate in and support cross-functional project teams to achieve objectives on time and within budget.
  • Adhere to and promote AFL's environmental, health & safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Aceess to education tuition assistance may be provided.
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent, or equivalent education/training, with preference given to those currently enrolled.
  • Manufacturing experience (1–5 years) as a production operator/team leader or maintenance/process technician is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, math, mechanical, and written/communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of EHS management systems, quality management systems, plant accounting, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Intermediate or higher user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis software such as Minitab.
  • Intermediate or higher user of Oracle R12 or similar manufacturing-related modules.

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
