Responsibilities
- Start-up and processing of molding machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment.
- Participation in sampling of new equipment.
- Tracing processes to maintain function and quality.
- Performing mold setter and machine operator duties as needed.
- Installing molding equipment following supervisor/management directions.
- Aiding in samplings, continuous improvement, and engineering projects.
- Using hand and power tools for job functions.
- Operating injection molding machine controls.
- Preparing machines for production.
- Scheduling and setting up robot positions.
- Advanced setup of hot stamp machines, label applicators, IML equipment, robot tooling, material dryers, blenders, color carts, vibratory welders, and cooling fixtures.
- Carrying out quality checks.
- Troubleshooting robot/machine sequence program issues.
- Addressing various process-related issues such as flash, burns, voids, and warping.
- Diagnosing and resolving problems with auxiliary equipment, robot tooling, and molding components.
- Utilizing a multimeter to troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Performing minor repairs on mold tooling and machine/auxiliary equipment.
- Executing a line clearance.
- Using purging compounds to clean the machine barrel and mold.
- Starting up and shutting down presses, water cooling, and air supply systems.
- Operating a forklift.
- Standing or working at heights more than 2 feet off the ground.
Requirements
- Knowledge of equipment safety, including crane movements, machine safety, electricity, etc.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team on projects.
- Fundamental understanding of injection molding processes from raw materials to finished parts.
- Basic knowledge of machine/robot sequence programming.
- Understanding of mold tooling fundamentals.
