Process Supervisor

About the role

The Process Supervisor ensures the efficient and economical refining of raw sugar and the production of white, soft, confectioners and liquid sugars, adhering to established standards. They supervise a workforce of 20-30 union hourly employees, directing all aspects of the refining process, including the receipt of liquid materials. They ensure quality standards are met, promote safe operations, and participate in the facility safety program.

Responsibilities

• Achieving results through subordinates in a unionized environment.
• Maintaining compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
• Leading assigned teams in continuous improvement processes.
• Conducting regular shift meetings on safety, production, quality, and other important information.
• Training, monitoring, and evaluating employee performance.
• Conducting safety audits and ensuring safety requirements are met.
• Communicating with others in the organization to meet customer deadlines.
• Inspecting products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Providing guidance to workers on adjusting, repairing, and maintaining machines and equipment.
• Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Improving production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Ensuring all required production, quality, and safety documentation is completed and delivered as per department and company requirements.
• This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.

Requirements

• Associates degree required, 4-year Degree in Industrial/Electrical/Sciences/Technical area preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing (preferably food processing) or refining environment supervising employees (prefer union environment).
• Quantifiable leadership skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Industrial mechanical troubleshooting and management supervisory skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is required.
• Rotating shift in a 24/7 operation is necessary.

Qualifications
