Position Summary

The Process Solutions Sales Representative is responsible for supporting and growing Ferguson’s Process Solutions division within the assigned territory. This role supports sales leaders to partner closely with engineers, owners, contractors, and manufacturer partners to support complex water and wastewater projects across long sales cycles. The role operates with developing independence, contributing to sales pursuits while continuing to deepen technical and market expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with assigned customers, manufacturer partners, and internal stakeholders to support projects from early engagement through product delivery and post-installation support.
  • Support experienced Process Solutions sales team members by contributing to sales strategies, technical presentations, and portions of complex sales pursuits with extended timelines.
  • Perform fundamental product application analysis, product selection, estimating support, scope development, bidding assistance, and issue resolution.
  • Aid engineers with specification recommendations and early-stage design development to position Ferguson solutions.
  • Affiliate with influencers among engineers, owners, and contractors.
  • Analyze competitive activity within the territory and communicate market insights to management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of sales activities and pipeline within the Sales CRM System.
  • Represent Ferguson Process Solutions at industry events and associations as appropriate.
  • Develop sales knowledge & competencies to seek opportunities to present other Ferguson offerings (ex: Geo Storm, PVF, Fire Fab, etc.) within the primary solution of Process Solutions.

Qualifications

  • Typically, 5-10 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry, with growing exposure to technical or solution-based sales.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred; construction management or related degrees considered.
  • EIT or PE license preferred but not required.
  • Developing technical knowledge of water and wastewater process solutions.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based sales environment.

Pay

The estimated total compensation range is $98,800 - $158,100 annually. The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.

Schedule

This position is remote within territory and requires up to 50% travel within territory plus other travel as required. (e.g. factory visits to principal manufacturers, industry events, training).
