Process Scientist, Reagent Prep and Coating - Manufacturing
Job Scope
The Reagent Preparation and Coating Scientist is responsible for the preparation and processing of reagents and coated particles used in diagnostic manufacturing. This role supports production operations, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare reagents including System Liquid and QSET according to SOPs and batch records.
- Perform spiking, dilution, and filtration of reagents to meet product specifications.
- Execute particle coating procedures to ensure quality and consistency.
- Utilize SAP for ordering materials and consumables, processing returns for inventory materials, releasing work orders, and kitting out materials for manufacturing use.
- Support validation builds for new products and process changes.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the RP and Coating labs to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Participate in cross-functional improvement teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, and internal quality standards.
- Collaborate with Quality, R&D, and Engineering teams to support tech transfer and troubleshooting activities.
Education, Experience and Qualification
- Associates degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field, required
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field, preferred
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques including reagent preparation, filtration, and coating.
- Basic knowledge of general lab equipment (e.g. pipette, rotator, stir plate, centrifuge; etc.)
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Physical and Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for handling lab equipment and materials.
- May require lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Laboratory and cleanroom manufacturing environment.
- Use of PPE required (lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, etc.).
- Exposure to chemicals and biological materials.

The salary range for this position is $61,000 - $70,000 Annually.
