About the role

Responsible for route scouting and the design and implementation of safe, efficient and robust chemical processes for the synthesis of drug candidates with the overarching goal of gathering and determining fundamental process knowledge, scaling and transitioning such processes to manufacturing.

The role centers around the design and execution of experiments that are in line with portfolio program strategy. Based on experimental learnings, you will be responsible for analyzing, compiling, and sharing data with project teams and management.

Develop the fundamental process knowledge needed to support the transition of such processes from our labs to clinical supply, to regulatory filings and manufacturing vendors. As a member of our process team, you will closely collaborate with our Analytical Chemistry and engineering teams to develop the knowledge and controls needed for the successful supply of clinical materials and characterization of key compounds.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement safe, efficient and robust chemical processes for drug candidate synthesis.
  • Conduct experiments aligned with portfolio program strategy.
  • Analyze, compile, and share data with project teams and management.
  • Develop fundamental process knowledge for transition from labs to clinical supply, regulatory filings, and manufacturing vendors.
  • Collaborate with Analytical Chemistry and engineering teams to develop knowledge and controls for clinical material supply and compound characterization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ph.D. in organic chemistry or chemistry related field with 0 to 3 years of additional related research experience.
  • M.Sc. in organic chemistry or chemistry related field with 4-8 years of additional experience related research experience.
  • Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and thorough understanding of synthetic methods and reaction mechanisms.
  • Expertise in the purification and characterization of organic compounds using chromatography and NMR, MS, IR spectroscopy.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment.

Compensation Overview: US $104,300 - $126,391. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available.
