About the role

The Critical Raw Materials Scientist is responsible for performing and supporting a variety of QC testing and laboratory activities to ensure the quality and compliance of raw materials used in LIAISON products. This role involves routine testing, troubleshooting, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Critical Raw Materials department.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Execute functional qualification and shelf life extension testing of critical raw materials used in the production of LIAISON assays
  • Data analysis per written procedures and SOPs
  • Follow regulatory requirements - follow document instructions and maintain reasonable documentation error rates
  • Perform material processing and reagent for formulation bulk intermediates and components
  • Determine reprocessing need for calibrator, controls, and conjugates with assistance
  • Enter batch characteristics of LIAISON critical raw materials within the SAP inventory management system
  • Second check functional qualification, manufacturing, and equations related to raw material qualification, production, shelf life extension, etc.
  • Perform Good laboratory practices - maintain clean workspace in CRM and QC labs. Contribute to CRM group and QC duties, including lab and equipment maintenance
  • Utilize SAP (kitting, ordering to Cost Center, assign expiration dates, etc.) to ensure correct dating, accounting, and flow through facility
  • Participate in inventory accountability - PSA count, cycle counts, accurate kitting, etc.
  • Ensure safety of self and others by complying with all company safety policies, including use of PPE
  • Participate in team meetings and attend group training sessions
  • Maintain training required in SmartTrain and ensure timely completion of all company training requirements
  • Contribute to business continuity or continuous improvement projects by suggesting improvements and completing assigned tasks
  • Complete assigned tasks related to investigations for root cause determination and troubleshoot product or process issues
  • Participation in receipt and tracking of incoming pre-shipment raw material samples
  • Participation in visual management of work, providing timely updates to status of work, roadblocks, successes, etc

Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related science field required or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related science field preferred
  • 1+ Years Experience in a quality control or laboratory environment preferred
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments and data analysis tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs and regulatory guidelines.

The hiring range for this position is $61,000-$70,000 annually.
