Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), HAZOPs, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for new projects and modifications.
- Review, monitor, and close action items resulting from PHAs, risk assessments, and safety reviews.
- Administer and support the Management of Change (MOC) program, including workflow management and action tracking.
- Participate in and lead incident investigations using recognized root cause analysis methodologies.
- Review capital project requests to identify applicable process safety requirements and ensure compliance throughout project execution.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for process safety methodologies, including: HAZOP, LOPA, Safety Integrity Level (SIL), Risk Assessment and Risk Management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to process safety performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable process safety and risk management regulations and recognized industry best practices.
- Plan, facilitate, and participate in audits of Process Safety Management systems and programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen operational safety and regulatory compliance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of Process Safety Management experience within the chemical manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, or related process industries.
- Strong knowledge of: OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), EPA Risk Management Program (RMP), NFPA standards, API recommended practices.
- Experience leading or facilitating PHAs and risk assessments using methodologies such as HAZOP and LOPA.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes, industrial equipment, and manufacturing operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
