About the role

AECOM is actively seeking highly motivated Process Mechanical Water and Wastewater Engineer Lead for employment in our Water Business Line based out of our suburban Boston, MA located in Chelmsford, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for engineering, design, and rehabilitation activities related to process mechanical equipment, vessels and tanks and piping systems including equipment and piping specifications and procurement.
  • May be involved with the support of installation and operation & maintenance of equipment.
  • Builds analytic and design skills.
  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Evaluation and selection of process equipment, pumping systems, pipe materials, and valves under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Technical report writing.
  • Construction services support (e.g., shop drawing review).
  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collections and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical or mechanical engineering + 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.

Sponsorship is not available for this position. Relocation is not available for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
