About the role
Quality Control inspection and associated documentation of Process Piping systems within a cleanroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Coverage of OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory compliance
- Inspection and approval of Quality Plans, ITPs, PQR, WPS, WPQ, inspection procedures, records for installed pipe which includes weld map log, PMI, slope checks, and traceability logs, and other associated records of installed pipe
- Inspections of mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies for alignment and proper functioning, preparation of reports, notification of equipment problems and deficiencies, ensuring compliance with codes and standards
- Verification that all valves, tubing, fittings, instruments, and components are submitted and approved in accordance with project drawings and specifications
- Retention of records for NDE personnel qualifications/certifications to be submitted for approval and availability for review as necessary
- Verification that all inspectors under subcontractors for this project are qualified to perform the inspections they are tasked with in accordance with project specifications
- Initiation of Surveillance Reports and Non-Conformance Reports and updating the Surveillance Reports and NCR log as a result of any adverse findings during inspections or witnessed inspections
- Participation in turnover package documentation
- Performance of periodic quality checks for all welding performed to ensure welding procedures are being followed
- Verification that all welders are certified to perform the work they are assigned in accordance with project specifications and the welder qualification list
- Maintenance of Subcontractors Welder Performance Qualification Record (WPQR) for welders reject rate and notification of Contractor of any trends or risks to the project
Requirements
- Complete understanding of semiconductor process systems including ultra-high purity and cleaned for oxygen service stainless steel systems, and ability to competently inspect pipe/tube welds and systems
- Knowledge of systems must include all field and workshop fabrication/construction protocols and means and methods as outlined by industry standard specifications including systems testing and acceptance
- Experience and knowledge of processed piping systems
- Able to read P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams)
- CWI required

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, utilize hand and finger dexterity, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl

- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including protective eye wear, hard hat, lab coat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and respirators
- Must be able to safely access and traverse indoor and outdoor obstacles for site inspections, including climbing ladders, walking on stairs, catwalks, and other types of uneven surfaces where activity inspections are needed
