Responsibilities
- Cook up new products for manufacturability and assign tasks to engineers in the department
- Keep the workplace safe and in line with environmental regulations
- Start off each day with morning meetings, reviewing production goals, quality data, inventory, and company news
- Work closely with the production team to optimize manufacturing processes
- Oversee equipment quality to ensure it's functioning correctly, safely, and according to safety codes
- Create training programs and organize activities to enhance engineering proficiency
- Handle the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process to keep the company competitive in the market
- Manage budgets, prepare and monitor reports, and develop action plans
- Approve overtime, if necessary, and record all non-conformances to ensure corrective actions and preventative measures are taken
- Handle incident reports, safety alerts, and safety training for new employees and visitors
- Schedule and lead monthly department meetings
- Ensure the documentation with the state is updated through the internal document control system
- Address quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Keep KPIs up-to-date and communicate them effectively
- Submit electronic approvals (EAs) for invoices, parts orders, and organizational changes
- Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas
- Maintain a clean work site in accordance with 5S3R Standards
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent, relevant experience
- Seven to ten years of experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing in a highly automated setting
- Three to six years of experience leading and managing multiple processes
- Experience implementing 5S principles
- Supervisor experience in LGESMI preferred
