Process Lead, Mechanical Fabrication

Position Purpose

As a Process Lead within the Mechanical Fabrication Department, your primary responsibility is to lead and optimize the manufacturing and fabrication processes. Your role entails overseeing and enhancing the efficiency, quality, and safety of production processes. You will work closely with the team to identify process improvements, implement best practices, and ensure that fabrication projects are executed seamlessly and in compliance with industry standards. Your leadership will be instrumental in streamlining operations, reducing costs, and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement, ultimately contributing to the successful execution of live events and enhancing the overall audience experience.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead a small, diverse group of individuals with varying skills to completion of project goals by supporting team collaboration and cooperation
  • Organize and manage workflow to ensure team members understand their duties and delegated tasks
  • Answer technical questions from team members associated with manufacturing tasks
  • Share skills and knowledge with others to help with department development. Assist with training employee within the department.
  • Read, understand, and utilize all mechanical drawings
  • Understanding of quality control processes for assigned product/element to support quality control of elements and/or design flaws by flagging areas not meeting specifications and addressing appropriately through rework or bringing to the attention of others. Make improvement suggestions
  • Maintain awareness of project schedules and deadlines for team; raise concerns and/or suggest adjustments in an effective and timely manner if deadlines and/or goals are in jeopardy
  • Interact with other departments as necessary to refine understanding of their needs and present suggestions, feedback, and progress reports
  • Independently complete complex projects with minimal guidance/supervision
  • Manage materials, prints and supplies and assign the teams for the projects
  • Ensure product labeling requirements are accurately executed
  • Perform required maintenance and upkeep on equipment
  • Take initiative to improve methodology and find solutions to boost productivity for department
  • Communicate with management on projects and team performance
  • Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including tools and equipment
  • Accurately capture all labor hours and material issuing in Epicor
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required. Engage in training/development programs to enhance skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 years of mechanical or welding experience
  • High School Degree or GED
  • Preferred experience in Epicor, Slack, and Box

Work Conditions

  • Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required. This includes safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, safety toed shoes, and other PPE as required by the location.
