Process Improvement Analyst, Materials and Planning
About the role
The Anderson, SC facility of Vertiv is seeking a Process Improvement, Materials & Manufacturing Planning Specialist to optimize and standardize supply chain and planning processes across manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, map, and redesign core supply chain and planning processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Lead Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and value stream mapping initiatives that eliminate waste and improve performance.
- Develop standardized work instructions, SOPs, and process governance documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.
- Improve MRP planning strategies, reorder parameters, lead times, and safety stock settings.
- Enhance demand and supply planning processes to minimize shortages while optimizing inventory levels.
- Improve master data accuracy and consistency across manufacturing sites.
- Support implementation of advanced planning tools and analytical capabilities.
- Partner with production planners and schedulers to improve scheduling accuracy and execution.
- Develop standardized scheduling practices, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Improve coordination between customer orders, engineering releases, and manufacturing operations.
- Support implementation of finite capacity planning and digital scheduling solutions.
- Improve purchasing workflows and purchase order processes to increase responsiveness and compliance.
- Develop supplier performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Global Procurement to execute strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Collaborate with ERP and IT teams to improve system functionality and planning capabilities.
- Champion digital transformation initiatives that improve visibility, reporting, and decision-making.
- Develop dashboards and KPIs that measure planning effectiveness, material availability, inventory performance, and schedule adherence.
- Utilize data to identify trends, solve problems, and drive operational improvements.
- Lead implementation of new processes, tools, and best practices across multiple functions.
- Build strong partnerships across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, and IT.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational discipline.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Production Planning, or Manufacturing Operations.
- Experience working in Engineer-to-Order (ETO) and/or Configure-to-Order (CTO) manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated success leading process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Infor, or similar platforms.
- Experience utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional and global teams.
- Experience supporting digital transformation, advanced planning systems, or manufacturing process optimization is highly preferred.
