About the role

The Process Improvement Analyst I at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for directing and coordinating quality improvement activities and projects. They ensure data integrity, design and develop data analysis tools, and assist leadership with implementation and sustainability strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures data integrity by accurately collecting, analyzing, and proofreading information from valid sources to produce clear, error-free, and user-friendly reports.
  • Designs, develops, and modifies database forms and reports to meet user-specific needs for data capture and information retrieval.
  • Manages and performs in-depth data analysis for clinical quality improvement and other key projects, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate findings to support organizational goals.
  • Documents process flows, gaps, and actions for process improvement initiatives.
  • Applies and appropriately uses performance enhancing tools in support of the improvement process (cause-effect diagrams, flow charts, brain storming), problem analysis (control charts, histograms, run charts, financial analyses, etc.), and measurement in conjunction with Quality Improvement Specialist and Department of Patient Safety and Quality Leadership.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in supporting departmental success by developing and editing high-quality presentation materials for various projects and taking on other assignments to meet the evolving needs of the Department of Patient Safety and Quality.
  • Develops a range of data solutions, including custom reports, programs, and files, to facilitate effective data analysis and presentation.
  • Affirms the security and confidentiality of all patient information and other sensitive data by implementing and adhering to strict data protection protocols, ensuring full compliance with HIPAA and corporate IT security standards.
  • Enhances the quality and value of analytical outcomes by proactively developing an awareness of key project issues and applying that knowledge to the evaluation and interpretation of data.
  • Develops effective data collection and evaluation tools to identify opportunities to improve patient care.
  • Provides data analysis and development of key performance metrics to help monitor performance.
  • Participates in prioritization of business processes and/or technology driven projects.
  • Works collaboratively with leadership to significantly impact clinical outcomes, operational efficiency and/or service delivery.
  • Demonstrates systematic thinking and ability to anticipate cross-organizational consequences and implications of actions and decisions.
  • Performs ad hoc analysis to support strategy and analyze performance.
  • Provides ongoing communication to all stakeholders including senior management.
  • Makes regular updates to project status with project champions.
  • Works with process owners and project champions to drive results.
  • Displays effective mediation, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Develops and presents reports of process findings, data analysis, and recommendations and communicates project status to various audiences throughout the hospital in conjunction with the Patient Safety Quality Team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare, business, engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 or more years of experience in quality and process improvement in Healthcare.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment to deliver high-quality solutions, and exceptional collaboration with nursing, ancillary, and physician teams.
