About the Role

The Process & Equipment Technician plays a key role in supporting production operations by ensuring both equipment performance and process efficiency. This role is responsible for troubleshooting production equipment, supporting machine setup and adjustments, and helping optimize production processes to maintain quality, safety, and productivity standards. This individual serves as a technical resource on the production floor, working closely with operators, leads, and maintenance to identify equipment issues, improve workflow, and ensure production runs smoothly. When equipment is operating normally, the Process & Equipment Technician actively supports production operations while identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce downtime, and increase efficiency. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and a proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Equipment Support & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot production equipment to identify and resolve mechanical or operational issues.
  • Perform machine adjustments, calibrations, and minor repairs to maintain equipment performance.
  • Support equipment setup, changeovers, and startup procedures.
  • Work closely with maintenance when advanced repairs are required.
  • Monitor machine performance and proactively identify reliability concerns.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance activities as needed.
  • Identify recurring equipment concerns and communicate them to maintenance leadership.

Process Support & Optimization

  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and quality standards are met.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production workflows, reduce downtime, and increase output.
  • Support development and improvement of standard work procedures.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of process or quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Help train operators on proper machine operation and process standards.

Production Support & Machine Operation

  • Operate production machinery during periods when equipment issues are not present.
  • Support production teams to ensure daily production goals are met.
  • Ensure product quality through inspections and adherence to process standards.
  • Assist with assembly, packaging, kitting, and production activities as required.
  • Complete production documentation and system entries accurately.
  • Assist operators with machine setup, adjustments, or operational support when needed.

Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company safety standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support training and development of team members.
  • Ensure equipment is operated safely and report any safety concerns immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S standards.

Team Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with shift leads, operators, and maintenance personnel to support production needs.
  • Communicate equipment concerns, downtime issues, and operational observations to leadership.
  • Provide support across shifts as needed to ensure consistent equipment performance.

Culture & Collaboration

  • Share knowledge generously and support development of others.

A successful Process & Equipment Technician:

  • Minimizes equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting.
  • Improves production processes to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Supports operators and production teams with technical expertise.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve workflows and reduce operational issues.
  • Maintains high standards for safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, equipment operation, production processes, or industrial troubleshooting required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience with production equipment setup and adjustments required.
  • Understanding of manufacturing workflows and production processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to read basic machine documentation or work instructions.
  • Forklift experience or certification preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform machine adjustments requiring dexterity and mechanical coordination.
  • Continuous visual and mental attention when operating equipment.
  • Ability to work safely around industrial machinery.

Schedule

Tuesday - Friday, 3pm - 1:30am

Pay

Base Salary Range: $23–$27/hr (Range is based on experience, skills, and role alignment within the organization.)

Bonus Eligibility: Eligible for a performance-based bonus of up to 4-10% of base annual salary, based on individual, team, and company performance.
