Process Engineering Technician - Wet Process 1st shift

About the role

The Process Engineering Technician will gain hands-on experience in chemical engineering and equipment qualification through a blend of on-the-job training and mentorship. This position involves exposure to various chemicals, including acids, bases, and oxidizers, and requires strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Qualify new equipment, including hands-on testing and documentation.
• Support or initiate programs to improve quality in etching, plating, and other processes.
• Determine acceptability of product and decide whether to proceed or change the process.
• Determine root cause of defects.
• Assist in wet lab analysis and operations, including titrations, CVS, atomic absorption, UV-Vis, and testing.
• Complete routine checks of equipment, process, and product on a regular schedule and execute corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot controllers, conveyorized equipment, and lab equipment.
• Write and edit procedures.

Requirements

• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and software.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (equivalent software experience acceptable, but Microsoft versions will be used on the job).
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, including short- and long-term assignments.
• Able to stand throughout a shift, lift 40 pounds, work within confined spaces, and perform work in a crouched or overhead posture.
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree or higher in chemistry or engineering OR equivalent professional experience with a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Relevant experience as a PCB wet lab technician, etch operator with conveyorized equipment, or in repair/installation of conveyorized chemical equipment.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $58,996 - $93,252. Compensation varies based on skill sets, experience, training, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shifts may be eligible for a shift premium.

Export Compliance

• Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws, including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC.
• Ability to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to US Citizens and US Permanent Residents.
• Recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation.
• Understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL).
• Understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US.
• Manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
