About the role
As a Process Specialist, you will identify and pursue opportunities to make products and processes more robust and reliable through project delivery, process control, systems implementation, and personnel development. You will analyze, interpret, and compile a variety of data to complete work requests and make recommendations for changes that promote continuous improvement. Your work will prioritize loss reduction and implement and improve process control systems, utilizing analytical troubleshooting skills to resolve process outages and enhance product, machine, and people performance.
Responsibilities
- Project delivery: Execute assigned projects and action items to meet goals related to safety, schedule, cost, and engineering/operational success. Collaborate with the project team to define scope, estimate costs, identify resources, and provide timelines. Offer installation and operational support from a process perspective for product, equipment, and process changes. Prepare, execute, and analyze results for phase 2 & 3 trial plans and qualification protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), and prepare summary reports. Train impacted personnel, ensure changes are documented, and track open items through completion.
- Unplanned troubleshooting: Serve as a technical resource for unplanned consultation, training, and aiding in the recovery/improvement of manufacturing and systems processes. Relevant systems include core forming, adhesive systems, vision systems, web handling, and baggers. Act as a point of contact for escalation of process-related issues. Develop and document process controls using appropriate tools/data to define, measure, and generate solutions that improve process capability for achieving established Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters and productivity targets.
- Analyze data: Review quality, waste, and downtime data to set priorities for improving products and processes.
- Optimize processes: Identify and lead improvements to equipment, products, materials, resources, and procedures. Collaborate with Process Technicians to develop and improve standards and process controls. Lead or participate in cross-functional teams for continuous and reliability improvement projects and root cause analysis activities.
