Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify safety concerns and repair unsafe conditions.
- Maintain assembly machines and equipment per established PM schedules.
- Suggest improvements to PM schedules (frequency and content) as applicable.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and maintain process uptime through troubleshooting and repairs.
- Be actively involved in continuous improvement activities.
- Communicate opportunities for improvement through the appropriate channels.
- Document issues and repairs using the appropriate systems and forms.
- Support production equipment start-up and change-over as required.
- Auxiliary support for new equipment commissioning and start-up.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12.
- Some experience troubleshooting and repairing assembly equipment.
- Basic understanding of PLC-based machine logic.
- Ability to complete Millwright certificate.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of pneumatic circuits and systems.
- Knowledge of PLC-based equipment; some PLC program knowledge.
- Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic, electric and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to select and install sensors and other machine components.
- Knowledge and ability to use machining tools and equipment.
- Ability to read, understand and update electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings for assembly machines and equipment.
- Understanding of machine guarding and other safety requirements.
