About the role
The Process Engineer (Swing Shift) will be based in Coopersville, MI, reporting to the Director of Engineering. This role focuses on process-engineering capabilities to drive cost, quality, and delivery improvements within the manufacturing organization.
Responsibilities
- Analyze the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques, and the product.
- Define, implement, and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
- Identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process, either independently or with other engineering stakeholders.
- Participate in daily production activities and solve daily issues effectively.
- Prepare justification, purchase, and implement capital equipment for production.
- Support and oversee new process equipment production.
- Support the creation and introduction of engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Establish robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters.
- Develop, implement, and take ownership of process control methodologies.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues.
- Participate in activities to improve cycle time and processes.
- Evaluate and select various engineered materials.
- Implement statistical process research on new and existing products.
- Drive improvements in safety, productivity, and yield.
- Enhance manufacturing techniques and throughput.
- Continuously develop manufacturing techniques to improve in-house capabilities and yield.
- Develop and maintain process documentation.
- Review processing methods.
- Interface with production on all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer.
- Assist in developing training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer.
- Support equipment maintenance and repair as required.
- Guide cost improvement and reduction programs.
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in engineering within the high technology electronics industry or a related area.
Schedule
M-F, 9 am - 6 pm or 10 am - 7 pm (Swing Shift)
