Process Engineer (Starlink/Akoustis)

Responsibilities

  • Develop processes to improve efficiency and yield
  • Analyze data, identify process deviations, and assist in root cause analysis to resolve issues
  • Perform design of experiments to understand process mapping
  • Recommend measures to reduce process variation and improve product quality and yield
  • Assist operations and maintenance teams to maintain, qualify and troubleshoot process and equipment issues
  • Ensure safety and quality protocols are followed
  • Review work center SPC charts
  • Document process specifications and OCAP’s
  • Train operators and technicians
  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics
    • 1+ years of experience with semiconductor fabrication processes or statistical process control (internship, extracurricular, or academic experience is applicable)
    • PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

      • Advanced degrees in semiconductor or science-related fields such as material science, chemical or electrical engineering, microelectronics, nanotechnology, chemistry, or physics
      • Proficiency with metrology and failure analysis techniques
      • Proficiency in JMP statistical software, Microsoft Office Suite, and KLayout CAD software
      • Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills
      • Demonstrated ability to create detailed technical documentation and training materials
      • Solid understanding of SPC, DOE, 8D, and risk/change management processes
      • Experience leading cross-functional projects or tool installation programs
      • Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing environments involving frequent product changeovers
      • Experience in participating in quality audits and yield improvement initiatives
      • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

        • Ability to work in a fast-paced cleanroom environment and address critical production issues
        • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet critical milestones
        • This position will sit 100% onsite in our Canandaigua, NY facility
        • Aptitude to work as part of a team and also independently
        • COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

          Pay range:
          Process Engineer/Level I: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year
          Process Engineer/Level II: $95,000.00 - $130,000.00/per year
          Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

          Your total rewards package includes base salary, long-term incentives, and potential discretionary bonuses. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees accrue paid sick leave pursuant to Company policy which satisfies or exceeds the accrual, carryover, and use requirements of the law.
