About the Role

We are seeking a Process Engineer Pharmaceutical Packaging to provide onsite engineering support for pharmaceutical packaging operations within a cGMP manufacturing environment in Tennessee. This is a long-term position involving troubleshooting, optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing reliability and production output.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite engineering support for pharmaceutical packaging operations.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize high-speed packaging lines to improve throughput and reduce process inefficiencies.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Support production trials, machine testing, equipment performance evaluations, and process changes.
  • Evaluate packaging equipment, automation systems, serialization technologies, and integrated manufacturing processes.
  • Support installation, start-up, commissioning, and integration of new packaging equipment and production lines.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, controls, and packaging automation systems.
  • Support serialization activities and packaging system improvements.
  • Assist with qualification activities, protocols, batch record development, and technical documentation.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation related to process improvements and capital projects.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Technical Services, and Manufacturing teams to resolve production challenges.
  • Work directly on the manufacturing floor to identify issues and implement practical solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or packaging engineering.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or other regulated cGMP manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing manufacturing or packaging equipment.
  • Experience analyzing production processes, identifying bottlenecks, and improving throughput.
  • Understanding of integrated equipment, automation systems, and production processes.
  • Experience supporting production trials, machine testing, and process changes.
  • Experience supporting new equipment installation, start-up, commissioning, or line integration activities.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and update technical and engineering documentation.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Technical Operators, and Technical Services teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
