Process Engineer - Packaging

About the role

The Process Engineer at ASR Group is responsible for improving the efficiency, safety, and quality of packaging equipment in the Production Department. This role involves managing projects in the packaging department, troubleshooting and improving new and existing equipment, and originating concepts for new and existing packaging equipment.

Responsibilities

• Improves the reliability of products and packaging equipment.
• Works with operations on continuous improvement of packaging lines and equipment.
• Troubleshoots and improves new and existing equipment.
• Partners with operations to gather data to identify root causes and solutions to production problems.
• Originates concepts for new and existing packaging equipment, including support equipment such as conveying, robotics, instrumentation, weight control, and quality systems.
• Manages and engineers approved projects through to completion.
• Able to effectively communicate ideas and concepts to peers, subordinates, and leadership within the organization and across organizational lines.
• Able to work weekends as needed.

Requirements

• BS/BA in mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical experience preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of electrical design practices, control systems integration, electro-mechanical drive systems, and safety.
• Allen Bradley PLC and Wonderware programming experience a plus.

Qualifications

Located in Baltimore, MD, this position offers a salary range of $65,000 - $108,000 plus bonus. Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs), 401(k) with match, life insurance, AD&D, short-term disability, vacation, holiday, and sick time.

Pay

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.

Schedule

The position requires flexibility to work weekends as needed.
