Process Engineer - McIntosh, AL, Register you Interest

About the role

Contribute technical expertise to ensure the operation produces product that meets all quality, cost, and efficiency requirements. Design, develop, and implement continuous process improvements to meet business and location goals. Provide technical guidance to plant operations teams for process troubleshooting and corrective action plans. Entry to this position requires a BS Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field, with demonstrated potential for promotion within 2 to 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and participate in engineering projects, obtaining, organizing, and interpreting engineering data.
• Support operational goals in safety, compliance, quality, production, cost, and capital projects.
• Monitor day-to-day production results, considering economic and technical aspects of projects.
• Translate process to flow sheet representation under guidance.
• Assist in preparing engineering proposals, developing findings, drawing conclusions, making recommendations, and preparing reports.
• Contribute to the design of engineering projects and ideas for safer, less expensive, or new techniques.
• Meet engineering assignments within agreed-upon time, budget, and constraints.
• Apply standard engineering theories, concepts, and techniques, including material and energy balances for key unit operations.
• Work on troubleshooting problems, using basic process knowledge to solve issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate efforts with others, recognizing priority conflicts and seeking guidance when needed.
• Develop effective working relationships with plant operating personnel, peers, Maintenance, Accounting, Purchasing, ICD, Suppliers, and professional organizations.
• Provide technical supervision and instructions to process operators as part of readiness for promotion.
• Adhere to Food Safety (FES Duty of Care), Environmental, and Health & Safety responsibilities.
• Comply with all environmental standards, procedures, and work instructions; report violations or near misses.
• Fully participate in the safety program, including incident reporting and auditing.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related engineering field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Data and goal-driven mindset.
• 1-3 years of engineering experience preferred in Chemical Operation/Production Environment or Industrial Manufacturing.

Work Environment

• Frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
• Occasionally exposed to extreme conditions on-site.
• Noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to dust.
• Operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment.

The incumbent will be measured against site EHS, Quality, Production, Reliability, and Leadership goals.

Pay

Pay range for this position is $78,600 - $108,100.
