Process Engineer - Industrial/Manufacturing

Position Description

Title: Process Engineer
Department: Engineering
Immediate Supervisor: Plant Engineer & Maintenance Manager
Status: Exempt Salaried Position

Purpose

The Process Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, implementing, and documenting process improvements in the manufacturing process. They support Operations, Maintenance, and QA to ensure that all production and quality standards are met. They will indirectly manage a team, as well as have responsibility for all day-to-day technical needs of the department.

Principle Accountabilities

• Identify and develop process improvements by working directly on the manufacturing floor.
• Implement and document these improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Develop and implement production/process methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost-efficient manner.
• Investigate and provide remedies for manufacturing process problems.
• Provide hands-on technical support for day-to-day operations, troubleshooting equipment, and resolving procedural issues.
• Aid R&D in the development and scale-up of new products.
• Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration of process improvements and adherence to quality standards.

Essential Skills And Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a concentration in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing
• 3-5 years of documented Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Extrusion coating experience is an asset
• Web handling experience preferred
• Willing to travel (10%)
• Six Sigma experience as Green or Black Belt is an asset
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
