Process Engineer III

About the Role

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a business segment of Element Solutions Inc (NYSE: ESI), is a global leader in revolutionizing the electronics industry through innovative materials and solutions. We are seeking a Process Engineer to optimize operations, enhance first pass yields, streamline processes, and drive cost improvements under the guidance of our Engineering Manager. This role focuses on Statistical Process Control (SPC) for key products and problem-solving to improve efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor processes closely and oversee SPC-related activities for critical processes.
• Conduct daily monitoring of production for quality, cycle time, EHS compliance, and consistency with documented work practices.
• Determine root causes for out-of-control products and other product failures, implementing corrective actions.
• Manage Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMR), ensuring timely closeout and minimizing repeat occurrences through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Write and modify Work Instructions for existing products.
• Support the transition from pilot to full-scale manufacturing through process documentation, batch validation, and operator training.
• Lead process engineering-related Capital Projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process equipment-related problems.
• Collaborate with Maintenance/Production and follow Management of Change protocols for equipment repairs and process changes to ensure process safety.
• Serve as a secondary resource for Plant EHS Activities, including waste management shipment coordination, permit compliance monitoring, auditing, and EHS systems performance validation.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Production to oversee the execution of equipment and instrumentation calibration programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in a process engineering role, preferably in chemical synthesis with over 3 years in batch operations.
• Good working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Quality focus, self-motivated, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Team player with the ability to collaborate closely with other departments.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written or verbal instructions.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, basic process control, pumps, piping systems, control valves, mixers, solids handling, and environmental control equipment.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Pay

The typical base salary range for this position is between $95,406.00 and $143,108.00.
