Process Engineer II
About the role
The Process Engineer at Materion uses engineering principles and techniques to maintain and improve the plant manufacturing process. They focus on continuous improvement in process quality and cost.
Responsibilities
- Develops & executes continuous improvement plans for the manufacturing process.
- Provides technical process support to the operations and maintenance groups including problem solving & troubleshooting.
- Identifies & implements process controls.
- Maintains product standards and leads continuous improvement process to improve yield & performance.
- Investigates, develops, & implements manufacturing technologies including managing capital projects.
- Develops & maintains Standard Operating Procedures and other process documentation.
- Develops & maintains operator training documentation and assists in the training effort.
- Interacts with customers & suppliers as the key process technical resource.
- Actively participates in plant EHS process.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support efficient business operations.
- Maintains an awareness of safe work practices and prevents conditions that may result in an unsafe situation or harm the environment.
Requirements
Education / Experience: BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Industrial or related), Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
No operation or task will be conducted unless it can be performed in a safe manner.
Skills
Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques, ability to solve problems, strong communication skills, proficiency in standard operating procedures, and experience with manufacturing technologies.
