About the Role
Improve and develop systems and equipment for core processes to meet all customer, business, and regulatory requirements through the following activities: People Focus, Process Focus, Equipment Focus, and Standards "Gatekeeper".
Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor peers as well as shopfloor personnel
- Support technical development of shopfloor personnel
- Employ advanced cLEAN® tools within the main areas of problem-solving, project, and change management
- Lead cross-functional process improvements
- Develop plans to improve the performance of a process or set of systems using green belt concepts
- Develop and manage project budgets for improvements for a process or set of systems
- Support event response activities
- Support implementation of better practices and participate in sharing knowledge across all OFP sites for improvement projects
- Maintain and establish standards for procedures and maintenance plans
- Support global OFP collaboration initiatives
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Moves equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions
- Routinely operates and inspects manufacturing equipment using hands
- Straps and unstraps pallets using hands
- Must be able to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift
- May require corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role
- May require color vision based on role
- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder
- May be required to work at elevated heights
- Occasionally works around odorous and/or hazardous materials
- May be required to wear latex gloves
- May perform critical job functions in extremely cold work environments depending on site
- May position oneself within confined spaces for inspection if required of the role
- Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
- May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license and operate a motorized vehicle based on the role
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university required with one (1) year of engineering experience in maintenance, design, process improvement, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification/equivalent preferred
- May consider Associate’s degree in engineering or relevant field of study from an accredited university with two (2) years of engineering experience in maintenance, design, process improvement, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification/equivalent required
- May consider High School Diploma (GED) with four (4) years engineering experience in maintenance, design, process improvement, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification/equivalent required
- Three (3) years of engineering experience in maintenance, design, process improvement, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent preferred
- Knowledgeable in the following systems: Instrument & Electrical, Mechanical, Control/SCADA/PLCs, Process Improvement Methodologies, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) a plus
Reports to Manager, Senior Manager, or Senior Project Manager.
