Process Engineer – Downstream

Location: North Carolina (Onsite) • Duration: 1 Year

About the role

We are seeking a Process Engineer Downstream with experience in front‑end process design through equipment startup and turnover. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience owning downstream process equipment as a Systems Owner and supporting the equipment through the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support front‑end process design activities for downstream manufacturing systems.
• Take process designs from the initial design phase through equipment startup, commissioning, and turnover.
• Serve as the Systems Owner for downstream process equipment.
• Provide technical ownership and support throughout equipment design, installation, startup, and turnover.
• Work closely with engineering, project, construction, and operations teams to ensure successful system delivery.
• Review process and equipment requirements and ensure the systems meet operational needs.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during startup and support resolution through final turnover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (BSChE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
• Experience with front‑end process design for manufacturing/process systems.
• Experience taking projects from process design through equipment startup and turnover.
• Previous experience serving as a Systems Owner for downstream equipment.
• Strong technical ownership and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work onsite in North Carolina.
