About the role
In this role, you will identify and implement process efficiencies within our plant by utilizing Lean methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma. You will provide plant-wide support and become a subject matter expert in optimizing production processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective project execution. As the internal Process Engineer, you will oversee new projects, including bottle and label changes, new product lines, and production line improvements, while bridging the gap between account managers, production teams, and external customers. You will also map material flows, conduct production data analysis, and recommend efficiency improvements.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive plant support by becoming a subject matter expert in key processes to ensure projects are completed efficiently and cost-effectively from start to finish.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, developing best practices, streamlined routines, and innovative solutions to enhance production rates, improve output quality, and reduce costs.
- Identify the 7 wastes, review total productive maintenance, create loss analysis, and compile downtime charts using Six Sigma tools (Problem Solving, Failure Mode and Effective Analysis (FMEA), Process Mapping, Value Added Flow Analysis, Seven Wastes, Takt time, 5S, Value System Mapping).
- Manage new projects coming to the site, such as bottle changes, label updates, and new product lines.
- Coordinate between on-site Account Managers and key departments—batching, inventory, production, quality, and warehouse—to ensure smooth project execution.
- Map material flows, identify touch points, and recommend process improvements for greater efficiency.
- Collaborate with Account Managers to communicate with external customers on project needs, including line trials, while collecting and analyzing production data to document and design more efficient production processes.
- Perform Installation Qualification (IQ), Operation Qualification (OQ), and Product Qualification (PQ).
- Observe Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP).
- Participate in Safety & Quality Audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in science, engineering, or chemical engineering (Preferred).
- Recent graduates with 5S/Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen training and/or experience will be considered (Preferred).
