Responsibilities
- Support the design and engineering of process systems, including fluid transfer, heat exchange, and high-purity piping systems.
- Contribute to systems involving ultrapure water (UPW), high-purity water (HPW), specialty gases, chemical distribution, and wastewater treatment.
- Perform engineering calculations such as flow analysis, pressure drop (friction loss), pump sizing, and basic heat transfer evaluations.
- Aid in the development of PFDs, P&IDs, and system layouts under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Participate in equipment selection and specification, including pumps, filtration systems, heat exchangers, and chemical delivery systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams to ensure coordinated system design in a design-build environment.
- Support field activities including construction coordination, system walkthroughs, and commissioning efforts.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during design and installation phases.
- Ensure designs align with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in process engineering, preferably within a design-build or EPC environment.
- Exposure to projects in semiconductor, advanced high-tech manufacturing, cleanroom, or mission-critical facilities.
- Foundational knowledge in one or more of the following systems: Ultrapure or high-purity water systems, Specialty gas and chemical distribution systems, Wastewater treatment systems (including solvent or acid systems), Fluid transfer and pumping systems, Heat exchange systems.
- Understanding of piping systems, including basic pressure drop and material selection considerations.
- Familiarity with PFDs and P&IDs.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Internship or project experience within semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as SEMI or ASME B31.3.
- Exposure to commissioning, startup, or field support activities.
