Process Engineer
About the job
The Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost performance. This role supports daily production activities, leads process improvement projects, and works closely with operations, maintenance, quality, and EHS to ensure stable and reliable plant performance. This role also contributes to the site process safety management (PSM) and Risk Management Planning (RMP) programs.
Responsibilities
- Monitor key process parameters and equipment performance to detect deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues (yield losses, off-spec product, equipment bottlenecks, etc.) and coordinate root cause analysis.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to production lines to ensure stable operation and achievement of production targets.
- Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, throughput, energy consumption, raw material usage, and overall OEE.
- Develop and implement process changes and improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Conduct trials and experiments to validate new process conditions, materials, or technologies.
Requirements
We believe you bring a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related discipline, and 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing or processing plant. Great if you have experience in a chemical plant.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
Schedule
This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Process & Quality Control Manager and based in Axis, AL.
