Responsibilities
- Create a work environment and team approach in accordance with the core principles of Loparex: Safety, Quality, Efficiency.
- Incorporate safety into all aspects of daily responsibilities and be a leader in building safety into workplace culture.
- Provide targeted manufacturing and maintenance support, including but not limited to safety, quality, product trials, equipment optimization, establishing SOCs, and troubleshooting.
- Execute improvement activities, including but not limited to lean manufacturing principles, six sigma projects, and data analysis.
- Drive CI principles at the asset level and across adjacent groups.
- Disposition non-conforming products and investigate root cause.
- Supervise successful commissioning and/or implementation of new or modified equipment.
- Perform process optimization with focus on high risk/process failure areas with a focus on troubleshooting.
- Develop new products and processes in pursuit of Loparex core principles.
- Train Loparex employees in all new processes to ensure safety, quality, and efficient execution.
- Identify equipment upgrades in line with Loparex core principles, document justification, and follow through on successful implementation.
- Act as liaison between Technical Services and the plant to ensure successful execution of trials.
- Responsible for technical problem definition and solution in manufacturing environment; interface with multiple departments incorporating changes to the designs which improve manufacturability and quality.
- Determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
- Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control through the application of Lean principles as they apply to site KPIs.
- Perform assignments requiring use and application of standard engineering economics and product development principles and techniques.
- Must be available to be on call nights and weekends for production support on a rotational basis.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks/priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
- Work independently and in a team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM related field.
- Minimum of 4+ years previous Process Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- In absence of degree, 8+ years of demonstrated continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of extrusion coating, silicone coating, printing and slitting process preferred.
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, SAP, DELMIA Apriso).
- Knowledge of statistical techniques including: SPC, design of experiments, and quality improvement systems.
- Six Sigma Green and/or Black Belt certification preferred.
- Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment including ear plugs, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes.
