Process Engineer

About the role

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and documenting die cast processes for optimum quality and output.

Responsibilities

• Assist operations in maintaining optimum process and troubleshooting.
• Participate in tool design and cavity configuration for both new and existing programs.
• Work with other departments during APQP events to ensure smooth introduction of new and revised die castings, or to resolve equipment, process, quality, efficiency, or tooling issues.
• Perform minor maintenance on die cast machines as required.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

Reliable attendance is required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• 10 years of experience in set-up, operation, and process development with die cast machines, preferably Buhler, Prince, and Weingarten machines.
• A strong understanding of complex die cast tools integrated with hydraulic and electronic cylinders, slides, and switches.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States. Due to ITAR and U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders) are eligible for employment. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Automation experience.

Schedule

3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Pay

The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $81,427 to $108,569. The exact salary may be determined based on a combination of factors including the candidate's knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.

100% employee-owned, Kurt Die Casting is a division of Kurt Manufacturing and located near Minneapolis, MN. Our die casting facility offers experience in multiple areas of manufacturing, including aluminum and zinc die casting, CNC machining, automation, and quality control. We operate over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space with 20 CNC machining centers and 15 die casting machines ranging in size from 500 to 1,200 tons. Many of the castings we produce feature challenging designs requiring secondary operations such as machining, finishing, and assembly.
