Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead process design, validation, and improvement initiatives in an aseptic manufacturing environment.
  • Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and P&IDs for pilot and commercial production lines.
  • Create and manage technical documentation, project plans, and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and FSMA regulations.
  • Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and batch documentation.
  • Lead equipment qualification and validation programs (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Define operating parameters and acceptable process ranges.
  • Evaluate manufacturing capability for new and existing products.
  • Support new product development and pilot plant trials.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement root cause analysis solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and yield optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities, capital improvements, and equipment upgrades.
  • Develop ROI analysis and technical proposals for capital projects.
  • Absorb and train operators and maintenance teams on equipment and sanitation procedures.
  • Support scale-up from pilot plant to commercial production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in food processing or food manufacturing.
  • Strong background in aseptic processing and sanitary design principles.
  • Experience scaling production from pilot plant to commercial manufacturing.
  • Experience creating PFDs and P&IDs using CAD software.
  • Experience working with PLC and HMI automation systems.
  • Knowledge of food processing equipment sizing and specifications.
  • Experience writing technical documentation, SOPs, and project proposals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD tools.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with production and technical teams.
