What You Will Do
- Utilizing lean principles, analyze process conditions and operational activities to propose corrective actions as needed to ensure the process operates in a cost effective and efficient manner.
- Aid in day to day activities of the operation to produce products of sufficient quality and quantity to meet the projected demands of customers.
- Incorporate Safety, Health and Environmental compliance requirements into process improvements.
- Manage assignments in accordance with Ingredion Engineering Standards.
- Develop, evaluate and seek approval for process modifications and optimization programs to improve the efficiency and capability of plant processes.
- Implement improvement initiatives in conjunction with Operations and Maintenance.
- Lead or participate in strategic process initiatives and studies.
- Aid in the training and mentoring of operations personnel in operational techniques and standard operating procedures.
- Participate on continuous improvement teams made up of peers throughout the Ingredion network.
- Assist in the mentoring of less experienced engineers.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Chemical, Industrial, or Food Engineering (or equivalent experience/education considered).
- Experience in Process/Production Engineering with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Self-starter who can navigate ambiguity, stay organized, and deliver results with urgency and ownership.
- Strong project management capability, including multitasking and effective time management.
- Team-oriented leader with high integrity who can collaborate across all levels, support technical development of the hourly workforce, and use PC tools and statistical data analysis (or be working toward proficiency).
