About the Role

As a Process Engineer, you will collaborate closely with Operations, spending significant time on the manufacturing floor to address production challenges and improve processes. This hands-on role focuses on identifying and implementing enhancements in safety, quality, efficiency, and capacity while supporting process optimization, new product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement improvements in quality, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare documentation for process safety and equipment operations.
  • Develop an understanding of control systems used within your assigned area.
  • Propose and implement programs to meet individual objectives.
  • Support chemical manufacturing trials and studies to validate process improvements, such as cycle time reductions, yield and quality enhancements, new raw material introductions, and waste minimization.
  • Prepare, test, and analyze developmental resins to improve existing processes, recipes, equipment, materials, and product lines.
  • Manage safety issues related to product equipment modifications and the introduction of new products and technologies.
  • Design, develop, and implement process controls and automation projects involving automation systems and PC network technologies.
  • Respond to off-hour calls to resolve equipment issues or assist with operational problems.
  • Ensure the safe operation of the unit, compliance with health requirements, and protection of the environment, including energy conservation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 3–7 years of experience in a batch chemical manufacturing plant.
  • Experience with DCS systems or process controls is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management tools and techniques is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in teams with technical, production, and maintenance personnel.
  • Excellent analysis and troubleshooting skills.
