Process Engineer
About the role
Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking a Process Engineer to join their engineering department based in Kinston, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for process optimization, supporting the ramp-up of plant programs, and implementing solutions to improve industrial processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure industrial feasibility of the Definition Dossier and create an Integrated Manufacturing Dossier from it.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Instructions (SOIs).
- Develop and optimize processes with appropriate STV calculations.
- Analyze and document value-added and non-value-added times.
- Create and maintain PERT/GANTT diagrams to assess industrial impacts on Engineering teams.
- Contribute to the definition of the Kinston Plant industrial system.
- Balance lines and optimize manufacturing systems during major modifications.
- Document and minimize/travelled work.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver optimized solutions.
- Implement improvement proposals.
- Support training and onboarding efforts for new team members.
- Resolve technical queries from various departments and stakeholders.
- Act as an expert in Industrial System build processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of related experience in aviation and/or manufacturing.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Suite products.
- Working knowledge and application of Business Management Systems (BMS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Qualifications
- Preferred: General knowledge of FAA, EASA, and ICAO regulations.
- Authorized to work in the US.
Skills
- Knowledge of process engineering principles and practices.
- Basic project management concepts.
- Experience with Planning Tools (e.g., AVL2, EPIQA).
- Good teamworking and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven record of excellent customer service.
- Experience in manufacturing or assembly technology implementation.
- Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering tool sets (SAP, MES, etc.).
- Google and/or Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Knowledge of SAP transactions.
