Process Development Scientist

Responsibilities

• Study execution at bench-scale and pilot-scale related to manufacturing support and process transfer projects.
• cGMP documentation, data review, and writing technical documents.
• Perform protein purification techniques including precipitation, chromatography, ultrafiltration/diafiltration, and filtration.
• Analyze and interpret analytical results.
• Author study protocols and reports with strong technical writing skills.

• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

Qualifications

• Relevant field degree (Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Biology) with a minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree and 1 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in protein purification techniques at bench-scale and/or pilot scale processes.
• Directly related education and experience may be considered in place of the stated requirements.

Work Environment

• Laboratory and pilot-scale production environment.
• Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms.
• Exposure to electrical office equipment.
• Exposure to chemicals.
• Required personal protective equipment includes protective eyewear, garments, and gloves.
• Frequent sitting and bending neck for 4-6 hours per day.
• Occasional standing and twisting neck for 2-4 hours per day.
• Occasional walking, bending, twisting waist, and squatting.
• Moderate lifting of 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional reaching above and below shoulder height.
