Process Control Engineer

Skills and Knowledge

• B.A./ B.S. in engineering, computer science, technology, or a related field
• Experience implementing detailed control system electrical design packages
• Strong understanding of AutoCAD
• Understanding of electrical and electronic principles, calibration standards, and basic components
• Understanding of electrical equipment, components, and instrumentation
• Knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment
• Able to read & write technical reports
• Able to create & understand electrical drawings
• Aptitude to troubleshoot electrical equipment and components, such as PLC’s and software
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Functions

• Establish electrical and control design documentation for a variety of processes
• Understand, develop, and specify instrumentation data sheets, control panel schematics and I/O drawings, one-line diagrams, and electrical elevation and layout drawings
• Collaborate with sales and marketing to aid in the development of proposals and serve as a technical advisor
• Design network and communications solutions for control systems
• Develop accurate electrical design drawings for documentation
• Provide appropriate documentation and programs for customer
• Troubleshoot and reconstruct electrical instrumentation on-site & in company shop
• Setup appropriate electrical equipment, controls, and circuits including PLC’s
• Determine and effectively correct problems through electrical adjustments, re-wiring, and component replacement
• Work with engineers in designing and fabricating control panels, circuits, and instrumentation
• Analyze system diagnostics to ensure they are running efficiently
• Perform tasks in an efficient manner to meet customer deadlines
• Communicate with engineers and executives about progress of project
• Represent the company in customer relations & maintain contact throughout completion of project
• Ensure customer satisfaction and knowledgeability on electrical systems

Requirements and Demands

• Regularly required to sit, stand, reach and bend
• 25%+ travel in the field
• Able to lift 50+ lbs., Walk 1+ mile, and work at heights 20+ ft. above ground level
• Regularly work in a variety of environments ranging from a production and manufacturing shop floor to a field environment: construction sites, water/wastewater treatment plants, pharmaceutical, clean room environments, as well as hazardous (gas, liquids, fibers) environments etc.
• (Required to exercise all necessary safety precautions and skills)

Schedule and Application

• Full Time, Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM
