About the role
The Process Coater I is responsible for performing basic coating operations on aerospace components under the supervision of the department Supervisor or Lead. The role ensures products meet all technical, quality, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform coating operations such as Painting of Pins & Collars, Cetyl Alcohol Lubrication, Water Based Cetyl, and Automatic paint applications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and job routers to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Operate all coating equipment, including spray equipment, bake ovens, and lube tanks.
- Troubleshoot equipment and report repair needs to the Lead or Supervisor.
- Operate electric or manual pumps for chemical or paint removal as needed.
- Handle all chemicals safely in accordance with company and governmental regulations.
- Ensure product quality meets all company and industry standards.
- Complete assigned workload efficiently and on schedule.
- Monitor and maintain equipment performance, report malfunctions promptly.
- Follow all company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and practices.
- Attend all required HSE training and report any nonconformance immediately.
- Promote continuous improvement and participate in waste elimination initiatives, including recycling.
- Participate in the development and promotion of the HSE culture by:
- Respecting and ensuring respect for the instructions and rules established in the field of health, safety, and the environment (in particular the LISI golden rules).
- Immediately correcting, whenever possible, or reporting to superiors and/or the HSE department, any malfunction or risky situation in the fields of health, safety, and environmental protection.
- Implementing preventive actions to reduce the environmental footprint and control health and safety risks.
- Participating, upon request, in analyses (of risks, incidents) and HSE working groups related to the professional scope.
- Being familiar with the main health and safety risks and the main environmental impacts relating to the scope of work.
- Being familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives.
- Making proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working experience of processing manufacturing procedures.
- A minimum of 0 - 2 years industrial experience and/or training in a related area desired.
- Must maintain either no facial hair or a NIOSH Approved Beard as per Cal/OSHA California Code of Regulations, Title 8, Section 5144(g)(1)(A) and pass an annual respirator fit test.

Physical Demands

- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, twist, squat, and reach above shoulder level.
- Frequently required to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds for extended periods of time.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing level within normal/average range.
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, proper footwear, and respirators in specified areas.
