About the role
This role offers the opportunity to see behind the scenes of the services we provide every day while interfacing with customers. You will be gaining knowledge of Emerson’s industry leading automation technology.
Responsibilities
- Providing engineering and design services to our customers required to maximize the value of their process control systems.
- Rotating throughout the engineering services organization, working with different engineering teams on providing service to a range of customers.
- Assisting with plant operations and optimization responsibilities.
- Handling process control design, automation system configuration, project execution, instrument specification and selection, and construction support.
- Delivering quality solutions and services to customers using the technologies provided by DeltaV, DeltaV SIS, Asset Management Systems (AMS) and other Emerson solutions.
- Serving the team through your technical knowledge and technical leadership.
- Proactively learning to apply new automation products.
- Collaborating successfully both internally and externally to impact Experitec and client profitability through effective partnerships with clients, Emerson partners, other Experitec employee owners, and other Emerson Impact Partners to maximize business results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Electronics, Industrial Technology OR Associate degree in similar area OR equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
- Three or more years of experience in Manufacturing and Process control operations.
- Experience reading and interpreting Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Ability to work in office or at client sites Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm and to occasionally work additional hours as needed and to participate in rotating on call support.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook email, and basic computer skills.
- Dedication to safe workplace practices and have the ability to comply with all company and site safety regulations.
- Ability and strong desire to lead by example, as well as work with others.
- Ability to drive for the company with a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass driving record background check.
- Ability to utilize personal vehicle for some work travel AND the ability to rent a car when requested for work travel.
- Ability to independently travel domestically up to 50% of the time including overnights and weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in manufacturing and data center environments with shifting and extreme temperatures.
- Ability to wear PPE as appropriate for potential environmental hazards.
- Flexible, assertive, stress-tolerant, and optimistic mindset, with a willingness to adapt to evolving project requirements and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally and build consensus to expedite solutions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Five or more years of experience in Manufacturing and Process control operations.
- Five or more years of experience with electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical schematics.
- Three or more years of experience using AUTOCAD.
- Three or more years of experience using computer aided drafting software.
- Prior experience working on Emerson systems.
- Prior experience in DeltaV or PLC application and configuration.
- Prior experience programming any PLC or DCS platform such as Allen Bradley, Rockwell, Siemens, Honeywell and/or similar platforms.
- Prior experience in the technical areas of valve repair and instrument services.
- Prior experience in Quality Control.
- Prior experience in reliability.
- Prior experience as project manager.
- Prior experience leading a process improvement initiative to completion.
- Prior experience with service expansion initiatives that impacted the business.
- Prior experience reading and interpreting Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
