About the role
Responsible for auditing all manufacturing processes in the plant to ensure products comply with Boar’s Head specifications for quality. The position requires practical skills in process development, implementation, and continuous improvement for meat and poultry products. You will assist with troubleshooting technical problems and coordinate process and product improvement efforts while managing multiple tasks and meeting project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Audit all steps in manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with company specifications.
- Serve as liaison with Customer Service, Plant Manager, and Quality Assurance Manager to resolve product quality complaints.
- Conduct quality monitoring processes such as product slicing and finished product evaluation to verify quality standards.
- Provide support to resolve processing problems in the plant.
Requirements
- Three to five years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment, preferably in meat or food processing.
- A degree in food science or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of processing, quality monitoring, and government regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with databases and analytical software is helpful.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs preferred.
Skills
- Language: Fluent in English with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel and write/interpret technical reports.
- Mathematical: Perform calculations related to meat processing and lab testing, including product formulations, percent yield, added ingredients, and protein fat-free calculations. Ability to analyze process data, charts, graphs, and logs.
- Reasoning: Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
