About the Role
This position requires the ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, and may involve considerable out-of-town travel. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and possess a High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of all training requirements, including Defensive Tactics Training Academy for Deputy Probation Officer and/or Surveillance Officer roles, is mandatory.
Initial and continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of fingerprinting, criminal background investigation, pre-employment drug screen, credit check, polygraph examination, and psychological evaluation. Employment terms, including working conditions, compensation, benefits, hours, and job location, are determined at the discretion of the Court.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 21 years of age or older
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays
- Willingness and ability to travel out-of-town as required
- Job-related licenses, registrations, certificates, or professional memberships (if applicable)
- Ability to participate in Defensive Tactics Training Academy (for Deputy Probation Officer and/or Surveillance Officer roles), including:
- Minor aerobic activity
- Standing up to one (1) hour at a time
- Throwing punches (at partial speed)
- Use of impact weapons
- Kicking at targets below 24"
- Controlled falls
- Punch and kick drills (partial speed)
- Exposure to Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Spray
Disclosures and Certifications
Applicants must disclose any past drug usage, including:
- Marijuana, Cocaine/Crack, Methamphetamines/Speed, Heroin, Opium, Morphine, LSD/Acid, Peyote, Mescaline, Hashish, Steroids, other illegal drugs or narcotics as defined in Title 13 of the Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS), and illegal use of prescription drugs.
- For any "Yes" answers regarding drug usage, a full explanation is required, including:
- Number of times used
- Number of times after age 21
- Date first used
- Date last used
- How the drug was ingested or consumed
- Duration of usage
- Motivation for use
- How the drug was obtained
- Reason for stopping use
- Any other relevant factors
Applicants must also disclose:
- Any convictions for engaging in sexual abuse
- Any civil or administrative adjudications for sexual misconduct or harassment
- Any investigations or findings related to sexual abuse, staff sexual misconduct, or sexual harassment
