Probation Division Director

About the role

Kern County seeks a Probation Division Director to lead the division.

Responsibilities

• Appraise applicants' training, education, experience, interest, and personal fitness for the position through oral exam.
• Conduct oral exams with a weight of 100%.
• Ensure applicants achieve at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree.
• Five (5) years of full-time paid experience in probation field services or institutions work, with one (1) year in a supervisory capacity equivalent to a Probation Supervisor or an Assistant Division Director in the Kern County Probation department.
• California Class C Driver's License.
• Eligibility for a Class B Driver's License.

A background check may be conducted for this classification. Following an offer of employment, you may be required to undergo post-offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.
