The position of Probate Paralegal is currently being managed on behalf of a partner company. This remote contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced probate professional who can handle matters from start to finish in a fast-paced legal environment.
About the role
- Support attorneys through every stage of probate administration
- Assist with estate planning documentation
- Work directly with clients, courts, fiduciaries, and financial institutions
- Ensure matters progress efficiently and accurately
Responsibilities
- Prepare probate petitions, pleadings, inventories, accountings, fiduciary documents, and other court filings
- Manage probate matters from estate opening through final distribution and case closure
- Draft and revise estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related legal documents
- Prepare client correspondence, engagement letters, and other legal communications
- Coordinate with clients, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, financial institutions, title companies, and court personnel
- Track court deadlines, maintain case calendars, and ensure timely filings
- Organize and maintain electronic case files and legal documentation
- Schedule client meetings and support attorney calendar management
- Maintain strict confidentiality while delivering high-quality legal support with exceptional attention to detail
Requirements
- Extensive experience managing estate administration independently in a remote environment
- Proven experience handling probate administration from estate opening through final closing
- Strong background drafting probate pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, fiduciary documents, and court filings
- Experience preparing estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents
- Thorough understanding of probate court procedures and filing requirements
- Experience communicating professionally with clients, courts, financial institutions, and fiduciaries
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, proofreading, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple active matters independently while meeting deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal practice management software such as Clio, MyCase, or similar platforms
- Experience with electronic court filing systems, trust administration, or probate matters across multiple state jurisdictions is preferred
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote setting
