Pro Skills Volleyball Founding Director, Charlotte
Pro Skills Basketball has run youth programs since 2009. We are in 28 U.S. cities, including Charlotte, and we are a Jr. NBA Flagship Network member. Pro Skills Sports brings the same coaching standard to more sports. We are looking to bring it to youth volleyball in Charlotte, if we find the right person to lead it.
About the role
The founding director builds Pro Skills Volleyball in Charlotte from the ground up, then helps take it to new cities across the country. The founding director sets the standard for everyone who follows, so the bar is high. You coach first and build the program yourself before you hire. You market at the grassroots level and work with families every day. We are flexible about what we build: training, clinics, camps, leagues or teams. You help decide what fits the sport and the city.
Responsibilities
- Coach and build the volleyball program from scratch.
- Market the program at the grassroots level and engage with families daily.
- Decide on the program structure (training, clinics, camps, leagues, teams) that best fits the sport and Charlotte.
- Eventually hire and manage additional coaches as the program grows.
Requirements
- Played or coached volleyball in college or at the professional level (required).
- Deep knowledge of volleyball.
- Real passion for the sport and for coaching young players.
- High energy and genuine hunger to build something significant.
- Entrepreneurial drive and considerable grit.
- Confidence, strong organization, and a habit of over‑communicating.
- A clear plan for a career in youth sports (this is not a side job or stepping stone).
Qualifications
- Experience building or running a program, team, or business.
- Background in corporate or sales roles.
Benefits
- Custom software for registration, payments, payment plans, rosters, schedules, check‑in, and email/text/team chat with families.
- Hiring and onboarding tools, with background checks tracked for every coach.
- Shared coaching standard, practice plans, and coach training.
- Budgets, bookkeeping, and a dashboard showing program performance.
- The Pro Skills name, a website, and marketing support.
- Access to a team that has successfully built this model in 28 cities.
Pay
- The role starts part‑time.
- The goal is to grow it into a full‑time career with full‑time pay as the program expands.
- Initially, you earn what you build; your pay comes directly from the programs you create and fill.
Schedule
- Expect about 20 hours per week to start, including evenings and weekends.
