PRN Therapist

Responsibilities

• Utilizes and promotes trauma-informed treatment through the provision of evidence-based practices.
• Participates in developing the patient’s treatment plan and outcomes in cooperation with the treatment team.
• Provides direct therapeutic services consisting of individual, group, and/or family therapy dependent on the patient's needs.
• Makes ongoing assessments regarding the patient’s progress in treatment and revises the treatment plan according to patient needs.
• Completes clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Establishes and maintains contact and relationships with referral sources related to patient caseload.
• Plans for continuing care of patient and makes appropriate referrals.
• Marks and completes insurance authorizations for patient caseload.
• Provides referrals for additional care or services when required.
• Achieves and maintains expected productivity of 50% on an ongoing basis.
• Participates in regular supervision with the manager and seeks out additional supervision as needed.
• Adheres to all applicable provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
• Adheres to the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS), Department of Public Welfare (DPW), and Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) regulations.
• Completes mandatory orientation and annual training programs; completes applicable attendance documentation.
• Provides coverage for other programs as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year experience in a health and human services field.
• Additional Requirements: Pass a Department of Corrections Clean Background Check, Pass a PA Criminal Background Check, Pass Drug Screen, 2-Step TB Test, Obtain CPR/First Aid Certification, Work Conditions: Department of Corrections Center, Favorable working conditions, Minimal physical demands, Significant mental demands include those associated with treating patients with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
