About the role
We're building a top-tier clinical team of Substance Abuse Counselors who are passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to recovery. The position is PRN with clinic hours from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, seven days a week. Ideal candidates can work 1–2 weekdays and at least 1 weekend day; no evening shifts are available.
Responsibilities
- Develop and provide daily group therapy to assigned patients following substance abuse and co-occurring program curriculum provided by Clinical Director
- Ensure group attendance/compliance by providing engaging and meaningful group content
- Use substance abuse and co-occurring therapeutic interventions and de-escalation techniques to help patients accomplish treatment plan goals and successfully complete treatment
- Assess patients for substance use disorders, risk to self or others, and co-occurring mental health disorders
- Provide support for aftercare planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate comprehension of Substance Use Disorders and Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders
- Identify areas for improvement within the department by analyzing data, developing and implementing improvement plans, and documenting outcomes
- Collaborate with the Treatment Team to formulate the Master Treatment Plan and assist in coordinating discharge planning
- Maintain positive relationships with all staff and healthy boundaries with patients and staff
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment plan reviews and Quality Improvement activities
- Pursue professional development through education and training programs
- Complete all required documentation (Comprehensive Problem List, Integrated Master Treatment Plan and Updates, group therapy session notes, Discharge Summary, etc.) ensuring compliance with company policies, state regulations, Joint Commission standards, and Medical Needs Criteria
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a Behavioral Health Field preferred
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year of work experience in the behavioral health field preferred
- Licensure/Certification Desired:
- State SUD certification required if education is equivalent to High School or Bachelor's level
- CADC I, II, or III; QMHA or QMHP and willing to obtain a CADC
- CPR-AED and First Aid certification required
- Knowledge and Training Required:
- Proficiency in communication and written skills
- Knowledge of state and federal statutes regarding patient confidentiality laws
- Knowledge of licensing and accreditation standards
- Understanding of addiction placement, continuing care, and discharge criteria, including ASAM criteria
Pay
Hourly pay ranges from $33/hr and up, based on education, certification, and years of certified experience.
