PRN/Security Officer/MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care

About the role

A Security Officer is responsible for protecting and serving MUSC Health Pee Dee Division patients, staff, and visitors, in addition to monitoring and protecting facilities and assets, across the Pee Dee Division.

Responsibilities

• Patrol facilities and grounds
• Provide emergency assistance and response
• Interact with patients, families, visitors, law enforcement and correctional officers
• Support MUSC Health staff with issues involving security and safety concerns
• Complete detailed notes based on observations
• Conduct security investigations and interviews
• Write detailed reports regarding incidents and events

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or 10 direct years of job related experience
• Minimum One (1) year relevant experience or appropriate preferred education requirements
• Preferred Experience in healthcare security, corporate security, or law enforcement
• BLS or CPR Required. If not BLS Certified, then certification must be obtained within 30 days of Hire
• Minimum Valid driver’s license in the State of SC

Qualifications

• Handle with Care Crisis De-escalation course Completion
• IAHSS Basic Certification within six (6) months of hire

Skills

• Knowledge of security protocols and procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
